My must haves

I saw this on another blog when I was pregnant and thought it was so helpful so I decided to do one for my own. Here are my must haves for babies first few months. Of course I'm sure I'll have to add to this list quite often as he grows.

-The Miracle Blanket http://www.miracleblanket.com/. I bought this before Gage had arrived in hopes that all the hype would be true. We used this blanket night one and still use it almost every night. Its the best swaddle we have tried. Its kinda like a straight jacket and it does come with instructions but Gage loves it. He is getting too long for the leg part now but we still swaddle his arms and he wont sleep good without it. It will be a sad sad day when we have to retire this!

-Fisher Price Cradle Swing. We didn't have this swing first but thankfully we hated our last swing so we upgraded to this. I've said it once and I'll say it again, one of my favorite purchases we made. He falls right asleep in it and loves to rock and look at the mobile. It has great sounds and the battery has lasted us awhile.

-Cloth diapers. No I don't cloth diaper, I use these for burp cloths because normal burp cloths are the size of my pinky. Tyler and I both love using these and they have saved our clothes and couches a few times from messes.

-Some form of carrier. I have this one right now and I love it. Gage likes it as well. It saves you when they want to be held 24/7 and you actually have things to do. Gage falls right asleep in it. I'm thinking about getting the moby wrap because I hear a lot of good things about this one as well. I'll let you know if I like it.

-Two baby books that I really liked are, The happiest baby on the block, & What to expect the first year. I just received THBONB yesterday for Easter but so far I'm loving the information in it. What to expect the first year has a lot of good information from everything to ppd to breastfeeding to cradle cap. I highly recommend both.

-Harmonics projector and sound machine. Shirley and Brandon told us about this because KD loved it and it put her to sleep. We started using it when we transitioned Gage to his room this month and we love it. Gage calms down easily with the sounds and is now starting to watch the projections. It has 5 sounds and the ocean and rain are his favorite. We got ours from amazon but Shirley got theres from kohls.

-Gage slept in our room for the first month and this pnp was a life saver. The changing table is so helpful and we still use the changing table part because its just too handy. It has music, vibrations, and a light that gage really liked. Something like this was a lot handier then a simple bassinet.

-Wet Toilet wipes for me, :) enough said! Regular toilet paper will never be good enough now.

-Johnsons bedtime lotion, I love putting this on Gage every night and giving him a little massage. I like the smell and I'm gonna pretend it helps him sleep better.

-Zipper sleepers vs button sleepers were extra helpful during the night with diaper changes!

-Some things that were a big fail, diaper warmer, colic calm, gas drops, Dr Browns bottles.

Hope that helps someone, I love hearing any advice on what has worked for parents.

Yes, yes, yes! The swaddle blanket, pack n play with the bassinet, cloth diapers and zipper sleepers were some of my favorites too!! I loved your comment about regular burp rags being the size of your pinky, hehehe, so true. And adorable Easter pics below!!!

I went to Denver to visit a friend and she came back with me to SLC. Well we had her one year old and one month old with us. She had a Baby Bjorn and it worked but we bought a Moby and she loved it. She said it felt like the baby was more secure and her head wasn't bobbing all over the place.

It is good to hear that the changing table on the PnP was helpful! Robert keeps saying we would never use it, but I think it would be nice, especially at night.
