Disneyland 2016

Blogging this trip has been on my to-do list since February. :( Better late than never right?

We did a Disneyland trip back in January. We went the last week and it was a great week to go. We had perfect weather, seriously the weather was amazing. It was 60-70 degrees each day. We wore t-shirts and shorts and had no clouds or rain. It was beautiful. The park was pretty dead. Our longest line was 30 minutes and that was for toy story which is always crazy.  This was Gage's 5th time at Disney and Nash's 3rd. What can I say we love Disney!! We left early on Monday morning and the boys did awesome on the flight. We took Grandma Julie and this was her first flight! It was fun watching her experience it and watching Gage try to relax her. :)
Once we arrived in California we picked up our car and Nash zonked out. This kid took the most random naps this trip, which made things nice. We rented a mini van and that was super convenient to have!
We then headed to Huntington Beach where we had a blast! I thought it would be too cold for the boys to get in the water but they proved me wrong. They played in the waves, made sand castles, Nash chased birds, it was probably the favorite part of the trip. We then headed grocery shopping which was another plus of having a car. We had tons of snacks for the hotel room and we bought everything for breakfast in the room. That saved us money and time!
We checked into our room and then headed to Medieval times, which was a first for us. We loved it! The only downfall was we sat right under a cool vent and we were freezing half the show. The boys even ate the food and Nash never took his eyes off the show. Gage was all into it and was pretty let down when our Knight didn't win, he did make it to the final fight though.
It was expensive but for sure made a fun night!
Tuesday morning we woke up and headed to Breakfast with Minnie and Friends. We originally wanted to do Goofy's Kitchen but they were closed during the month of January. Bummer! We did though have a really nice breakfast. The place was pretty dead so we got tons of time with the characters and the food was perfect! This was Nash's first time seeing the characters this trip. In past trips he's liked them a lot but this time he was 2. We didn't know how he would react. He was hesitant at first but quickly warmed up! By the end of the trip he would run to the characters, hug them, and didn't want to let go! So cute! It helped having him have an autograph book so he felt big like Gage. Gage loves the characters still which I love! He's quite the professional!
Our favorites are chip and dale, they're the best!
That first day we did California Adventure and had pretty much no lines. We loved bugs life land and we made sure to get fast passes to the cars ride. Sadly Nash was not tall enough for the cars ride, hopefully next year he will be. Gage for sure tried a lot of rides this trip. He loved space mountain, madder horn, the railroad, and he even FINALLY tried Indiana Jones. Tyler and I have been trying to get him on that for the past 2 years. He didn't like it though but we were just happy he tried. Nash loved everything he was tall enough for. His favorites would be the toy story rides, the bumper cars in bugs land, and monsters inc. Julie hadn't been to Disney for years so it was fun experiencing everything with her too! Tyler took her on Tower of Terror and those pictures were pretty hilarious.
I was 18 weeks pregnant this trip. It really didnt hinder me at all. I stayed clear from the roller coasters, and everything that was jerky. I pretty much stayed with Nash and everything he did I did.
That first night we went to Tequila Jos in Downtown Disney. Way good Mexican food and the boys loved it! I for sure recommend this place to everyone!
They now make you sign up to do Jeti training which is super nice. They tell you which show your child will be involved in and you just come back during that time. TMI but the second morning I woke up feeling a uti coming on. I got a couple of these with the boys when I was pregnant so I kinda knew what was coming. Thank goodness I called my amazing ob and she phoned in an antibiotic to a pharmacy right next to Disney. While Gage did the Jeti Training I ran and got it. I was super bummed to miss his training but the medicine helped a ton! By the next day I was already feeling better.
Every night the boys would konk out instantly! They both slept amazing! Gage slept with Grandma in her room and Nash slept with me. We had conjoining rooms which were super convenient. We spent 3 days in Disney and by day 2 we had done everything. It was nice to have a third day to do our favorites again. We loved the parades and the fireworks. I always get teary eyed watching the fireworks at Disney. I will never forget holding my 7 year old with his head on my shoulder during the fireworks.  My arms were aching and my back about to break but I loved every second of the "magical" moment. I don't care what anyone says Disney has a magic you just can't deny. If you time your trip right and you plan accordingly Disney can be perfect. The boys were amazing this trip and we only had to get after them like twice.
The 4th day we headed to San Diego and Lego Land. Our commute to San Diego wasn't terrible, we made it there in 90 minutes. Thank goodness for iPads and movies. Lego Land was dead, but its always been dead when we go. We didn't wait in any lines and the boys enjoyed it. Gage is for sure getting too old for the place but Nash was perfect age. You had to be 36 inches for quite a few rides and he was!
We went to Old Town San Diego for dinner at our favorite Mexican Restaurant, can you tell we like Mexican?  We drove back to Anaheim late but the boys did pretty dang good. The next morning we packed up, returned the car, and headed home. We flew back home to snow and it was miserable. We all wanted to be back in the heat but oh well.

We're already planning another trip in 2017. :) Maybe we should just move to California!
