Scariest night EVER!

Tyler and I went to bed around 10:00 last night with snoop in our bed and Gage in his as usual. Around 1:00 we were both in a deep sleep with I heard Snoop dive off the bed and run into the kitchen/front room. Tyler heard it too because we both flew up in bed. We both had thought he heard something outside and he was going out to bark through the dog door, like he does sometimes. Right away we hear snoop sliding all over the hard wood floors and hes barking and whimpering and sounds like fighting something or someone in the house. Tyler and I jump up and I begin freaking out, It sounded like someone was hurting my snoopy and was in the house. Tyler flings on the light and grabs the baseball bat under our bed, (yes that's right don't mess with us! haha) He runs out there and at this point I was frozen in our bedroom, I literally couldn't move. I'm pretty ashamed of my actions because what if it would have been only me home with Gage, would I have just froze there and let my kids get hurt? Tyler screams there is a cat in the house, so I run into the front room and sure enough there was a black cat on top of our couch taunting snoop! Tyler grabbed Snoop and the cat ran out the dog door faster then we thought possible. We checked on Gage who was soundly sleeping like we probably would throughout and earthquake, seriously with me screaming "Tyler save snoop" and snoop freaking out I can't believe he was still sleeping. Of course Snoop took the next hour to sniff the house, I could tell he was mad that a cat was in his territory. It took a while for Tyler and I to calm down and we just sat in bed in shock. I learned a few things from this awful experience.
1. I love love my snoop, seriously if you know me you know I love him a little much. Now my love and appreciation for him has tripled. He makes me feel safe and hes my little watch dog.
2. I'm a wuss and I need to pull myself together in stressful situations. We had a similar situation like this up at Yellowstone with our friends in a cabin. We were woken up to a high pitch screaming and I literally just froze again!
3. Tyler has no fear and thankfully there is one of us who has the guts to go after, whatever it was with a bat.
4. We are now sleeping with dog door shut all night, good thing snoop can hold it!
5. Black cats will forever scare me!
So that's was our scariest night ever!! I'm still kinda freaked about it.

haha I really shouldn't laugh!! I would have done the same thing - I ALWAYS freeze when scary things happen and let Mike take care of them. But seriously, this will be fun to look back on and laugh at. Glad it was only a cat and that you guys are oky :)

Holy moly!!!! That is so scary!! And that is the worst to get woken up out of a deep deep sleep. I think it makes everything that much more traumatic!! Im glad everything is good though!!

Pretty sure I don't know if laughing my butt off at you two is the right reaction. I just imagine Tyler with a bat! One night we thought someone was in our house the same thing happened. Sophie freaked out but instead of a bat Christian got his gun. I did the same thing you did, so don't worry!
