Mothers Day Weekend

To start off the busy weekend Saturday Natasha and I ran the race for the cure. It meant a lot to me to run for two reasons. 1. I know a few people who are currently or have been fighting Breast Cancer, I ran for them in hopes their fight will end soon! 2. I have always wanted to run a 5k and finally I have done it. Yes I ran the entire time and didn't have to stop and walk once! Natasha helped me a lot because I didn't want to make her stop to wait for me. She is used to running 10k's and this for her was easy. When I finished I felt so proud and accomplished. For many people a 5k is nothing but for me someone who once hated running and couldn't run a mile this was a lot! My next goal is a 10k and this time Tyler wants to run with us as well. It was a great morning and I'm so glad I did it!
Starting Line
This was probably 1/4 of the people.
My running partner!Right after I got home from rftc it was painting time. FINALLY we had a nice weekend to paint. Our wonderful families once again pulled through and helped us out with everything, man do we love them! It looks great with a second coat, but along with finishing one thing there always comes more problems right? Well we used packing tape to tape the windows off and now it won't come off, so we have blue windows. So hopefully this week we figure something out to get it off! ahhh the trials of owning a home. Thankfully the paint is done, and it really does look like a new home!
Gage Chilling while we painted!
He was so good all day, he barely made a peep. He loved being outside and hanging out with everyone.

Saturday wasn't done yet, we were exhausted by this point but we had a little BBQ with friends. Alisha, Carlos, Jamie & Jason came over to eat some dinner and hang out. We had hamburgers and some cheesecake and everyone got to see Gage. It was so nice to eat outside on our deck and relax with friends, it made me way excited for summer and many more BBQ's.
Jamie & Jason
Jamie cut her hair and I love it!!! Looks so good!
Carlos & Alisha
His Buddha belly, oh I love it!
We woke up bright and early Mothers Day morning to go to breakfast with my entire family. Before we left I opened Tyler's gifts from him, Gage and Snoop. I got a coffee mug with Gage's picture on it, because Coffee has been my friend lately. Toby Keith tickets!! So excited for this, and a shopping trip to park city. He also had our itinerary printed out for the day, how cute huh!!
The waitress cut my grandpa out of the picture so imagine him there. It was a great breakfast and we got to see a celebrity! Megan from American Idol was there, haha how exciting huh. It was great being with the family and I will have to make an entire post dedicated to my amazing mother because she is pretty fabulous!
Gage was excited for Mothers Day!
We then went over to my grandparents grave to say hello. This was Gage's first visit over there and it was nice for him to be reunited with grandma and grandpa. I sure miss them, and know they are with us everyday! Amazing fact, the only time i have ever dreamt about my grandparents was the night we decided to start trying for little Gage. I know they hand picked Gage out for us, and they were the first to meet him. Kimberlee is already trying to sabotage cousin Gage, how funny!
Take Two!
If you read the itinerary then you know what comes next! Tyler, Gage and I took a trip up to Park City to shop. There was barely anybody there and it was nice to have a shopping trip with Tyler. Gage got a new outfit and I got 2 pairs of shorts and 3 pairs of flip flops, yep it was great!
After Park City a short little cat nap for my boys!
We then went to Tyler's Grandparents for a lunch with his family. It was great to see everyone and they all got to see Gage for the first time. Julie is such a wonderful mother in law I couldn't ask for better. Shes really like a second mom to me and I'm so thankful for her!!
We came home and took a little nap, Tyler made reservations at my favorite pf changs for tonight but we decided to pajama it and get Chinese takeout instead. We are all completely exhausted from this weekend but it really was so nice. I'm so thankful to be a mommy and to have such an amazing family. My first mothers day was more then amazing and I love my husband for making it so great. Hope everyone had a great Mothers Day!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend/Mother's Day! And you deserve it - you're an awesome mama :)

Way to go doing the 5K!! I'm like you were - I can't run to save my life. I'm hoping to change that before the year is over. I'd LOVE to run a 5K!

I think it's amazing that you did the 5k, and you ran the whole time! I've never done anything like that, but really want to. Great job! I'm glad you had a great Mother's Day, you deserve it!
